Many people thought the shots were intensely photoshopped while a few had an idea they were under blacklights from the CSI aspect. Many people commented on its science or forensic aspect, and Sarah thought this had to do with many scientific photos’ aim to reveal an unseen aspect, such as the texture of things revealed by the UV light. We discussed the importance of these being referential to parts of the body. The photograph of the eye was the most referential, while the red pal was the least. A good deal of the criticism of the work was directed at the tongue photo because the teeth are so pale and ignorable. If I were to shoot it again I’d either play it up or crop it tighter so there’s either more or less ambiguity, not being somewhere in between.
