Phillip Lorca DiCordia interests me because of the compositional and psychological tension in his photographs. His photos are taken in normal suburban environments but his subjects seem posed or out of place in them. This creates a cryptic or anonymous atmosphere to otherwise innocuous people and spaces. Man looming in the background of this photo is a good example how seemingly candid photo is transformed by placement.
